Ottery St Mary Under-9s bag brace of big wins

Ottery St Mary Under-9s were in great form as they claimed two big wins in meetings with Heavitree and Pinhoe in the Exeter and District Youth League.

Finlay Giles had a superb morning controlling the middle third of the pitch and clearly taking what he’s been taught on the training ground into competitive matches.

Jake Blackmore was outstanding in defence and this contributed to a comfortable morning for Otters glovesman Theo ‘Clean Sheet’ Cleary.

Otters coach Adam Carpenter said: “For me the key was the teams movement, positioning and passing. It was all very encouraging.”

The Otters won the games 7-0 and 8-4 with the goals scored by Freddie Clarke (7), Zach Wilkinson (4), Sam Hatswell (3) and Jack Carpenter.
