Ottery St Mary Under-9s came away from a visit to Mid Devon with mixed fortunes after a 3-0 defeat to Cullompton and an 8-0 triumph over Bradninch.
The young Otters gave a good account of themselves in the opening game and can count themselves a little unfortunate not to have something to show for their efforts. The home side scored three times to take the victory.
Despite the exertions of that first tough encounter, the Otters were quickly into their stride against Bradninch, eventually scoring eight unanswered goals.
Freddie Clarke and Robbie Larcombe both scored twice and there were single goals from Ash Whitcombe, Jack Carpenter, Sam Hatswell and Zach Wilkinson.
