Following their success in the cup the previous week Ottery St Mary Under-11s continued their winning ways with a 6-1 win at Lympstone in an Exeter and District League meeting.

The blues started strongly and controlled the game against a very competitive opposition. The deadlock was eventually broken in the 15th minute when Ash Whitcombe struck a cracking shot into the net – alas it was his net and so the Otters found themselves a goal down!

The response was both swift and clinical with first an equaliser from Ben Briar and then a smart finish from Sam Gleeson sent the Otters into a 2-1 half-time lead.

After the break the Otters looked a far more composed outfit and goals from Shaw Browning and Jack Carpenter were followed by a superb double from Freddie Clarke to complete the scoring and lead blues boss Alec Carpenter purring with delight.

This Saturday (September 24), the Otters will look for a third straight success when they visit West Exe Rangers.
