Potburys of Sidmouth sponsored their annual tournament at Sidmouth Golf Club, writes John Barnard.

Played in a fourball, better ball format, the winners this year were Neil Holland and David Bater who won a £100 voucher to be spent in store and £57 in the sweep. All in all a very good day’s work for the par!

It was tight at the top as they scored 42 points, the same as the long time clubhouse leaders Terry O’Brien and John Welch, but they just pinched the trophy and first prize on countback having scored a better back nine.

In third place were Andrew Dean and Mick Crane on 41 points with Keith Newton and Dave Hoare in fourth. The leading ladies were Sheila Faulkner and Marie Timms with 34 points.
