Sidmouth Raiders Under-12s had their splendid unbeaten run ended when they went down 4-1 at home to Crediton.
The Mid Devon outfit snatched an early lead, but Sidmouth equalised through Josh O’Connor with a wonderful volley from outside the box – a genuine contender goal of the season!
Sidmouth had plenty of opportunities to take the lead from Zach Lascelles and Josh O’Connor who both hit the post and, just as it looked that Raiders would take the lead, Crediton scored again on the stroke of half-time.
Sidmouth started brightly in the second half, however, Crediton’s pace and power gave them two goals in succession. Jack Goodman and Miles Lewis gave a good account of themselves in Raiders defence.
The final score was harsh on Sidmouth who, on another day, may have banked all three points themselves.
