Tedburn St. Mary 2, Colaton Raleigh 2; Colaton Raleigh 4, St. Martins 2nds 1

Colaton Raleigh took a vital four points from two difficult fixtures to keep them in the hunt for promotion and increase their unbeaten record to 11 matches, writes Jordan Cooper.

On Saturday, Raleigh made the journey to league leaders Tedburn St. Mary knowing a win would move them closer to the summit of the Division 4 league table.

They lacked cohesion early on and fell behind to a well-headed goal midway through the half. Changes to the side were made and Raleigh improved as a result, equalising through Damien Armes' good control and finish just before the interval.

The second half saw Jake Boyland scoring to put the away side ahead. Tedburn had an instant reply, levelling the scores just minutes later. Both sides created chances, but in the end both were happy to share the spoils and Raleigh travelled home with a well-earned point.

?On Monday evening, Raleigh knew that they had to take three points against struggling St Martin’s. They began well and took the lead through Boyland's second in as many games, his shot going in off the post. Adrian Parr made it 2-0 and Riki Pitter gave the home side a 3-0 advantage going into half-time. A second half corner from Ben Farrington was met by Parr for him to score his second, and Raleigh's fourth, before a late consolation from the visitors.

On Saturday, CR travel to Hemyock, 3pm KO, before two 6:30pm KOs away to Thorverton on Monday and home to Newton on Wednesday.
