Archant

The beautiful weather enjoyed recently disappeared with a vengeance for the Charles Stanley Monday Stableford, writes John Barnard.

Rain and wind persisted all day which led to a small hardy field braving the elements.

Leading was Graham Rogers who conjured 38 points with a steady round, nothing better than pars, nothing worse than bogies.

In second place was Stuart Coles who had a far more mixed round. Three birdies, but a double bogie and a few other bogies mixed in for 37 points. Shot of the day will have to go to Neil Holland who achieved a hole in one on the fifth.

Three birdies were offset by some bogies but 36 points was enough to seal third place

In the birdie count, Jonathan Lee still leads but John Jones has made a comeback, only four back with two rounds to go but the leaders are all away next week so it will be down to the final round to determine the winner. In the eclectic, Jonathan Lee still leads by two, despite hiding from the rain all day and not playing!
