It was with great sadness that we came across the news a much-loved stalwart of Beer Albion Football Club has passed away.
Andrew Toot Woodrow was a hugely popular figure on match-days at The Furzebrake, always providing fun and laughter with his dry sense of humour and pitchside banter.
It is a measure of the impact Toot’s made with Beer Albion when you see the outpouring of messages through the club social media channels, sharing their treasured memories.
The love and thoughts of everyone goes to wife Anita, daughters Victoria and Louise, and their families.
While everyone at Beer Albion comes to terms with the sad loss, it is a heartening sign of the strength within the club that the stoic volunteers keep on working, even through the lockdown.
Prior to the current spell of bad weather, the groundstaff have kept the pitch in top condition in readiness for football’s return.
