SidMouth Tae Kwon-do students raised 200 for the BBC’s Children in Need Appeal by taking part in a training session wearing their pyjamas.
Following a suggestion by a Sidmouth student, Josh Gill, Target TAGB Tae Kwon-Do held a class at Stowford Community Centre where students were sponsored to train in their pyjamas, in aid of the BBC Blue Peter “Go Pyjamas” appeal for Children in Need.
They managed to raise a fantastic 181.30 in sponsorship. Instructor Gerry Waugh topped this up with his own contribution and a round figure of 200 was paid to Children in Need Appeal.
Waugh said: “I am proud and delighted to have been a part of this and Josh must be very happy that his idea got so much support. It wasn’t just my Sidmouth students doing it either. Carl Jordan, who trains at Charmouth with me, travelled all the way to Sidmouth just to join in. That’s a 40-minute car journey, in his pyjamas!”
In all, 16 students took part and enthusiastically trained in their sleeping attire and reported the session as “awesome!”.
