Seaton Cricket Club has significantly strengthened their batting with the signing of Matt Hewer from Sidmouth.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Hewer lives a stones throw from Seaton’s Court Lane home.

Seaton have also signed Josh Cann – another wicketkeeper-batsman from Bradninch. Cann junior joins father Brian in the Seaton 1st XI for the forthcoming Tolchards Devon League season.

Seaton, skippered once again by Ben Morgan, look to have the players in place to mount a serious challenge for B Division honours.

They open their campaign on May 6 with a visit to Abbotskerswell before making their Court lane bow for the new term seven days later against Bideford, Littleham and Westward Ho!
