The Sid and Otter Valley Riding Club Junior team did really well at the Championships held over the Easter weekend at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire.

The club had two teams that qualified for the event, one in the dressage and one in the show jumping.

The dressage team, consisting of Cameron Beer (team manager), Flora Fraser, Millie Pring and Harrison Oakley had a very good day and finished a most creditable sixth.

The riders all ride a dressage test in separate arena’s and the scores from the placings going forward to make the team results.

All the riders rode very well as the competition at any National event is very strong. Teams had come from all over the country and were a very high standard.

Flora Fraser took an individual seventh place whilst Harrison Oakley won his section!

The show jumping team also did really well.

They unfortunately only had a team of three and so were not able to drop one of their scores as their competitors were able to do.

Despite this they all rode the challenging course well finishing on a final score of just four faults over the two rounds.

That was sufficient to earn them seventh spot in the overall rankings.

To give them a seventh place in the team.

The team was made up of Immy and Jasmin Carter from Westhill and Harrison Oakley from Awliscombe.

Both junior teams as always were a credit to the club and with fantastic team spirit.

It was an incredibly cold weekend to be sleeping in lorries, but was well worth it to have such fun.
