Young Jack Salvidge stepped up a distance and showed he is no slouch even over 25 miles when he claimed third place in the North Devon Wheelers 25 mile TT on the sporty S1/25R course with a time of 58:53, his first sub-hour ride.
Another Sid Valley rider returning to the TT race scene recently was Colin Bennett and, on a hot, sticky, humid Wednesday evening, Bennett took on the Budlake course, covering the rolling and bumpy 10-mile route with a very respectable 27:48 showing he still has a good turn of speed in his old legs.
Then last Sunday Doug Parker took part in the New Forest 10 which had a full field of 120 riders and came 39th with a time of 22:47.
