Sidbury travelled into Exeter for a Friday night T20 fixture with Sunset CC.
The hosts won the toss and opted to field. The teams agreed that batsmen reaching 30 would then ‘retire’. Sidbury’s batsmen were soon into their stride and Barney Stone continued his excellent early season form with a quick-fire 30 before becoming then first to retire.
Ed Smith making his debut, continued the good work at the other end of the wicket and the score board ticked over at a good rate.
Other contributions from Josh Reed, his friend Ben and Simon Rowe helped Sidbury close on 160.
The home side made a good fist of the run chase, but then ran into some tight bowling from Joe Gosse and John Miller, leading to them falling well behind the required run rate and their innings close on 92, leaving Sidbury comfortable winners.
