Sidbury created several chances to score but they were thwarted by an inspired former Sidbury goalkeeper, Adi Pullen.

Exmouth had two experienced players who threatened to run the game but, overall, Sidbury were the better side.

The game was soured slightly by an over-the-top challenge on Seagulls' defender Stuart Coombs that saw him taken to hospital.

He was later diagnosed with severe bruising and the injury will keep him out for at least three weeks.

The second team won their game against Exmouth Res 2-0, the goals coming from Joe Webber and latest recruit Sam Elstub.

There is no game for the first team this weekas the club is holding a fun day to run alongside the 80th Sid Valley Horticultural Show, but the seconds entertain AFC Sidford on Sunday, kick-off 2pm.
