Sidbury United were beaten for the fifth successive outing when they went down 3-0 at unbeaten Topsham Town on Saturday.
Things are currently mighty tough for the Byes Lane outfit, who have now lost eight times in 13 outings this season.
What’s more, a midweek 2-1 win for Willand Rovers Reserves against Newton St Cyres means that United are now just one point off the foot of the Fresha League top flight table having played more games than the two teams below them!
United boss Jeremy Schofield says: “We are in a hole, there’s no escaping that, and we need a change in fortunes soon or we are going to be right in the mire! We have been hit by injury this season, but must not use that as an excuse when, in all honesty, we have simply not been good enough up until now. That said, things can change very quickly - all we need is for a bit of good fortune.”
Things are not likely to get better soon with tomorrow’s opposition being high-flying Honiton Town and the following week it’s a quick re-match with Topsham Town!
