Sidbury United went down 4-0 at home to Fresha League Premier Division leaders Elmore, but it was the width of the framework that left the Tiverton side departing Byes Lane with such a score line.

United fell behind after 20 minutes, when they lost the ball in their own half and the visitors mounted a swift, and clinical, counter-attack.

A second goal arrived in bizarre fashion with United having a free-kick some 20-yards from the Elmore goal. The kick cannoned off the wall with such pace that it ended back in the United half and a fleet-footed visiting player ran on to score.

United then struck the post three times before the break with Connor Hannaford twice denied and a 30-yard left-foot Dan Gale strike had the frame of the goal shaking!

Two more second-half goals sealed United’s fate, thought they did hit the frame of the Elmore goal twice more!
