Sidbury's second half display was exceptional, the first half having been rather pedestrian, with neither side creating any goal-scoring opportunities.

The atmosphere at the club has been a bit sombre of late with Ben Woolley, Ben Clay and Dan Norman leaving for Sidmouth and Dan Churchill mulling over a move away, but you wouldn't have thought there were any problems whatsoever after Tipton found Sidbury's second half performance hard to deal with.

Tipton manager Dave Strawbridge said: "We were delighted when Sidbury invited us for this friendly. After promotion last season, we thought this game would provide a stern test for us and that's how it proved. We matched them for the first half but, in the second half, they stepped up another gear and just overran us".

Keiron Fayter-Small scored the first goal, Kev Dorman added the second and Paul Beacham finished off the best goal of the game, following a cross from the impressive Mike Pidgeon

Although Ben Clay and Ben Woolley have left to play for the Royal Marines, they have both decided to sign for Sidmouth Town as well, which is a disappointing development as it was hoped they would both continue to offer their services to us when they were not in Senior action.

Manager Mel Coombs said: "At the end of the day, it's disappointing but we don't want players who don't want to play for the club.

"Clay has been a great servant to the side since he was 12, so we wish him all the best. He captained the side for two years and was an excellent player for us, and I hope he now goes onto to bigger and better things. He's at the right age to push on now and leave the Devon and Exeter league behind.

"We hope to have a couple of new players signed after this weekend. Danny Green looks an exciting prospect, along with defender Theo Burgess who is improving quickly now, so we are quietly confident of another strong push for promotion."
