Every year the Sidmouth Bowling Club ladies section look forward to playing against the Ladies County President and her team of merry maidens, writes Susie Bonnell.

This year was no exception and Sidmouth’s indoor ladies’ captain Mary Turner welcomed this year’s county president, Anita Harris to begin the match, with her patrons’ team drawn from ISCA, Madeira, Honiton and Budleigh bowing clubs.

Sidmouth had a very successful day - winning on two of the three rinks - the winning rink for Sidmouth was skip, Jill Bishop, and her team, Mary Turner, Christa Turner and Ann Capon.

A terrific lunch was prepared by the indoor captain and her committee and much appreciated by all those who partook.

It was most certainly a case of another great day of bowls and catching up with old friends.
