Sidford Tennis Club has recently held charity invitation tournaments across a couple of weekends, mixed and then ladies, in aid of Macmillan, writes Jacqui Warrender.

We had two perfect afternoons with great tennis, good company, loads of sunshine topped off with a lovely cream tea! Visiting players were from Torquay, Teign Valley, Stover School, Exwick and Sidmouth Clubs. Congratulations to winners Phil Plummer and Di Horne in the Mixed Event and Kate Hooper and Viv Bess in the Ladies.

The two tournaments raised a magnificent sum of £210.

Sidford Ladies team has had a great start to the Winter League including wins against Sampford Peverell and Teign Valley away and also Sidmouth B at home.
