Sidmouth are all set for their trip to Exmouth tomorrow (Saturday, July 13) for the Francis Clark Devon Cricket League Match of the Day at the Maer (12.30pm start).

The sides met at recently as last Sunday when they went head-to-head in the Exeter and East Devon section final of the Devon County T20 competition at Knightshayes, Tiverton.

Another magnificent Liam Lewis knock was the centrepiece of a nine run success over the Maer men.

Sidmouth will pitch up at the Maer with two spinners in their eleven. Skipper Will Murray says: “I expect the pitch to be slow and of course very dry so it will no doubt take spin and we will have tow in our ranks with Dom Bess called up in place of seamer Harrison Jones.”

He continued: “I have the upmost respect for Exmouth. They are a quality side with seven current county players and a couple more that would no doubt be part of the Devon set-up if time and availability permitted. There’s no escaping the fact that this is a massive game that neither side will want to lose. Defeat will not end title hopes for either side, but it will be a set back. We are expecting the usual tough competitive game, but we are going there to win.”
