Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club (SOHC) are getting ready to welcome in a new season.

There’s to be a Club Day, being held at Ottery Leisure Centre on Saturday, September 2 from noon to 2pm.

This is for all players, existing ones and any new players – who are interested in playing league hockey.

It is intended that club coaches and captains will be using the day to inform players as to their early team selections.

The first senior training sessions will take place in early September with the men training from 7.30pm to 9.30pm an Tuesday, September 5, and the ladies will train the following day from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Both sessions will take place at Ottery Leisure Centre.

The ladies league matches kick-off on Saturday, September 16 with the third and fourth XIs both in action against Okehampton teams. All the club sides will then be inaction on the following Saturday (September 23). On that day the first of the in-house league matches takes place with the meeting of the third team and the fourth team!

There will be other matches arranged for the ladies teams in September.

The men’s league action does not get underway until Saturday, September 30 with four of the men’s teams playing that day. The one team to miss out are the fifth team,. They start their season the following Saturday (October 7). There will be friendly matches arranged in September for the men’s teams.
