There were just the two games for Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club at the weekend, with six of the teams already taking their winter break.
The men’s first team went to Somerset to take on Taunton Civil Service and more than played their part in an excellent game of hockey before eventually coming away on the wrong side of the result, losing 3-2. The goals for the away side came from George Powell and Jack Ellison.
In the other game, it was another tight affair, as the men’s second team entertained Tiverton 1 in a home fixture. Despite the best efforts of all attacking players on display, the match ended with honours even, with a 0-0 draw.
All the teams are now on a winter break, with some SOHC sides set to resume matches on Saturday, January 8, but all the teams playing again on Saturday, January 15.
