With the league season still a few weeks away, Sidmouth and Ottery men’s fourth team turned out a side made up of players, many of whom don’t usually play in the same side and they were beaten 8-0 by an Isca XI.

So, with Simon Olive taking on the captaincy role for the day, the players introduced themselves to each other before taking on their visitors at the Sidmouth pitch.

Although it took a while to gel, there was some good work being seen on the pitch, with some of the younger players showing great potential for the rest of the season.

Isca controlled much of the game and scored four goals in each half but the home side refused to cave in and put together some good attacking moves. Unfortunately, the side was unable to convert any of their attacks into goals but the good passing bodes well for the rest of the season as the players’ bed in to their regular places in the different teams.
