A Sidmouth badminton player was amongst the victorious Devon County Badminton Over 70’s team that has won the Badminton England Masters County Challenge held at the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall.
Over a two day event against teams from Lancs, Notts, Gloucester, Kent Dorset and Hampshire they emerged victorious due to an inspired performance from Angela Bolt (Raleigh BC, Exmouth) and David Bromage (Sidmouth BC).
In the final match against south coast rivals Dorset the score stood at one apiece after the Even Doubles and Bolt and Bromage contested the all deciding mixed doubles. After a nervy start, losing 7-21 in the opening game, they went on to win 21-17; 21-19
The team are now currently Masters County Championship and Masters County Challenge champions
