With the lack of any rain in recent weeks, the golf course has made playing very difficult with hard bouncy fairways and unforgiving greens, writes Hugh Dorliac.

This was not helped by some of the flag positions, which were difficult even for the home side.

Once again Sidmouth were giving lots of shots to their Boringdon Park opponents and several matches looked to be going the visitors’ way by the halfway stage.

However, holes 10, 11 and 12 turned the matches around for Sidmouth where local knowledge and solid golf enabled the home team to successfully put the pressure on and win all the matches.

With the overall score of both legs being 8-2, Sidmouth now play Stover in the quarter-finals.
