The latest first round match in the Parker Trophy between East Devon and Sidmouth was held at neutral venue of Woodbury Park, writes Hugh Dorliac.
The first paring for Sidmouth – Neil Holland and David Bater – had a tough battle against Paul Newcombe and John Page, but eventually came out on top, winning by the narrow margin of one up.
Duncan Taylor and Jonathan Lee beat their opponents more comfortably by a margin of three-and-two.
Sidmouth captain Lewis White and Mark Thomas finished the job with a dog licence win of seven-and-six against off-form opponents Leigh Jones and Jason Wride.
That all meant an overall three win for Sidmouth over what was clearly a shell-shocked East Devon team.
