Sidmouth Bowls Club can share in the celebrations for Devon County’s success in one of bowling’s most prestigious competitions - an annual event organised by the English Indoor Bowling Association - the Ladies Atherley Trophy, writes Susie Bonnell.

Sidmouth Bowls Club’s very own, Jill Bishop, travelled to Plymouth to play for Devon County against Dorset in the quarter-final of the competition.

The Devon squad played a terrific game - 136 shots to 93 for Dorset - to secure Devon County’s place in the last four.

That semi-final match will be against Surrey and will take place at a venue still to be announced.

It will be a neutral venue with equi-distant travel for each team. Fingers crossed and wishing them every success.
