What a glorious end to the summer season of outdoor bowls, writes Susie Bonnell.
Sidmouth Bowling Club members gathered in lovely sunshine to play for the very last time outdoors this year. There was plenty of lively competition and banter as the bowlers took it in turns to play either lead, number two or skip. It certainly challenged people and it was certainly great fun.
The winners at the end of the day were Jill Ashton, Anita Mason and Phil Meadows. So now we wait until next April to play outside again, but in the meantime, we will be hunkering down indoors on Sidmouth’s three indoor rinks.
Life for a bowler doesn’t get much better!
