The second Saturday of April saw lots of bowlers at the races, writes Carol Smith.
Well, not actually at Aintree, but at the Sidmouth Bowls Club social afternoon.
The turnout was brilliant with great hats and lots of fun and games all relating to horsey things. There was the hat parade, a sort of beetle drive, but with horses, a quiz, a sweepstake, a raffle and a lots of good food and drink!
The whole event was organised by the club’s social committee, headed by Chris Hamer, for which we thank them all for their wonderful hard work.
It was certainly great to see so many members enjoying themselves, but there is always room for more to attend.
