The Sidmouth Bowls Club festive season started well with a keenly fought match of teams supporting the captain versus the vice captain, writes Jennifer Fricker.
Twenty bowlers played in the morning and it resulted in a small win of five shots for the vice captain’s team.
Twenty-four bowlers played in the afternoon, but this time the captain’s team won by two shots.
All in all, a mighty close contest. Well done, the vice captains team.
Everyone sat down to a splendid lunch to which several retired bowlers were invited.
It was good to renew old friendships and remember the help these stalwarts had given us all in the past. Thanks are due to Mary Turner and her committee who worked so hard to make this a very successful day.
