Sidmouth Bowling Club are very proud to announce exciting news for one of its star players, writes Susie Bonnell.
Jill Bishop - a Devon County player for both indoors’ and outdoors’ sections - has battled her way through to win the prestigious title of Champion of Champions!
With both the semi-final and final taking place at Plymouth last Sunday (March 13), Jill first played Dawn Konetsky from Dawlish. After a very tense first few ends, Jill dug deep and came back from 13-2 down to secure a win, with a score of 21-19, taking her through to the final.
Jill and Brenda Wood from North Devon played in the final, treating the spectators to a thrilling game of bowls.
Jill’s win with a score of 21-16 gave her the well-deserved title of Devon County’s Champions of Champions.
