The climax to the outdoor bowling season competitions at Sidmouth took place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week when all the finals were played, writes Cliff Hewett.

The climax to the outdoor bowling season competitions at Sidmouth took place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week when all the finals were played.For once, bowlers enjoyed warm sunny weather on all the three days, which brought out many supporters who were entertained with some excellent bowling,The scores were all very close. The matches were played in good spirit and enjoyed by those who played and the spectators. Thanks must go to John Mason and Christa Turner, ladies' and men's competition secretaries, for all their work throughout the season, organising all the competitions. They will now play in Division 1 next year. Well done to all who played in the A team. l On Sunday, September 14, the club will be holding an open day for anyone interested in having a go and finding out more about the game. All you have to do is just turn up between 10am and noon and enjoy a cup of coffee. All visitors will be very welcome..
