Has there ever been a better Sidmouth sporting success Saturday than the one the first day of September 2018 produced?

We offer up that question beacuse September 1 saw the town’s three major sporting teams all claim remarkable success.

SUPER SIDMOUTH WINNERS – take one!

Sidmouth Town win their first ever FA Vase tie, beating higher opposition on their own artificial surface – they won 3-2 at Western League outfit Kensham Town.

SUPER SIDMOUTH WINNERS – take two!

Sidmouth Cricket Club’s 1st XI bagged their seventh Devon Cricket League Premier Division title in the last 11 years, winning their final game of the season at Exmouth to leap-frog final day morning leaders Heathcoat (who lost at home to Sandford) to claim the top honour.

SUPER SIDMOUTH WINNERS – take three!

Sidmouth RFC won their opening game of a new Tribute Western Counties West League season, and did so in style, bagging their first home win of a new campaign since 2006, thrashing Saltash 64-7.

Make sure you get your copy of the Sidmouth Herald this week (out next on Friday, September 7) for all the best post match comment on a super sporting Saturday for Sidmouth team.
