The Charles Stanley Monday Stableford was won this week by Stuart Coles with an excellent 41 points off his handicap of three, writes John Barnard.

Round in a two under gross score of 64, he managed five birdies, including the last two holes and only had three bogies in the round.

In second place was Craig Melluish, following up his third place on Friday. A couple of no scores on the front nine meant a slow start but three birdies on the last eleven holes, including the difficult eighth, pushed his score up to 40 points.

It was obviously a day for the form players as Terry Jones, following his win in the Digger on Saturday, then shot 40 points on Monday. Despite three birdies on the back nine (and four overall) he lost second place on countback.

In the birdie count, John Jones still leads by five with 30, with Mike Knight on 25 and Nick Gingell on 24. In the eclectic, Harrison Jones has now moved into an outright lead with 48 followed by Mike Knight and Howard Cushing, both on 49.
