Last week’s Charles Stanley Monday Stableford winner with 39 points was senior player Bob Cook who had a mixed round, the highlight being two birdies on the sixth and thirteenth holes, but a no score and a few double bogies prevented a larger win, writes John Barnard.

In second place was Craig Melluish on 37 points who also achieved two birdies off his lower handicap, but also had two no scoring holes to ruin his chance of a win and another handicap reduction.

Craig was second on countback, just beating Luke Sheppard who played consistently, but a few bogies on non shot holes held him back.

In the Eclectic, Chris Roberts has now edged ahead on nett 45 but he can’t play for a few weeks so that ‘leaves the door ajar’ for those following, including Mike Knight and Hugh Dorliac in joint second place.

In the birdie count, John Jones still leads easily with 57 with Mike Knight second on 49 and Nick Gingell a close third on 47.
