The Charles Stanley Monday Stableford was played on a Bank Holiday Monday this week so no seniors competition, but a good field enjoyed excellent weather, writes John Barnard.

Leading the way was Dan Churchill with 40 points to win easily by three shots and receive a two shot handicap reduction.

In second place, winning on countback, was Steve Punter. His back nine of 21 points was enough to beat Nick Baker who will be ruing his double bogey on the 18th hole although the flag was placed in a difficult spot on the top tier.

The Division Two two’s competition had one two recorded and this won £29, almost better than winning the competition! Division One had six twos and each won £6.50.

The eclectic is taking shape as we work well into the season. John Jones, David Pepperell and Mike Knight all share 52. John is easily leading the birdie count though with 23, six more than club manager Jonathan Lee who has 17.
