Last week’s week’s Charles Stanley Monday Stableford winner with 39 points was Mike Beckman, writes John Barnard.
Four pars off his high handicap gave him some good points and his solid back nine gave him the win over Nick Gingell, also on 39 points.
Three birdies for Nick and lots of pars should have been enough for the win, but a rare ‘blob’ on the seventh lost the win. Roy Smith was third.
Not looking a great round, four pars in the last five holes off his high handicap edged him into third spot
In the Eclectic, Harrison Jones has jumped into the lead by two clear shots and at this late stage of the season, this may be enough to keep ahead of Mike Knight, Nick Gingell, John Jones and Hugh Dorloiac.
