The scoring in the Charles Stanley sponsored Monday Stableford was again very good with 24 players scoring better than level two’s with a very large entry, no doubt a tribute to the excellent weather enjoyed by all, writes John Barnard.

Leading the way was chair of competitions Lester Willmington with 42 points. He had a reasonable front nine holes scoring 19 points but a one over par gross back nine meant 23 points, including a birdie on the 18th which secured the win.

He won on countback from Adam Nichols who had his handicap reduced from 25 to 21!

Third was Neil Faulkner who has hit a fine vein of form. He scored 41 points with four birdies and seven pars. The past few weeks has seen Neil’s handicap reduce from 10 to six, the lowest he has been by two shots.

In the birdie count, Jonathan Lee has now extended his the lead with 53 as John Jones hasn’t played for a few weeks due to work with Neil Holland beginning to move through the pack. In the eclectic, Jonathan has leapt ahead of Mike Knight.
