Sidmouth Colts 11, Okehampton Colts 3 This was a tight and exciting game which went right to the wire, but the Sidmouth victory was not enough to put them through over the two legs of this Devon Plate quarter-final and the aggregate score of 30-27 to Okehampton means they progress in the competition.

Both sets of players will be better for the experience under the pressure of a game like this. For Sidmouth composure and execution at key times may well have seen them through. Defensively Sidmouth were effective and accurate, but in attack they can look back at two or three key moments which could, fairly easily, have been handled better.

Another dominant scrummaging performance laid a great platform, and though it was always tight in midfield with the Okey 10 a constant threat, Sidmouth did seem to have the edge in terms of creativity. In the backs, Locke and Wells-Burr both had super games and Cotton scored a good try. The pick of the forwards was Christian Edbroke whose tackling and offloads were highlights of the game.
