Sidmouth Cricket Club is once again running the ‘Wine and Wickets’ scheme in 2018.
Twelve months ago, the scheme, which encourages ladies to either take up cricket, try it out, or indeed return to it after a spell away from the game, was rolled out for the first time and Sidmouth embraced it in great style and had as many as 35 ladies attending the sessions and then going on to play matches against other ladies’ groups.
A key concept of the scheme is that no previous cricket experience is necessary; indeed the club is looking to introduce the sport to new people.
At the ‘Wine and Wickets’ sessions it’s very much the case that ‘all are welcome’ and it’s as easy as turning up with suitable footwear to have a run around for an hour – and, of course, enjoy a glass or two of free bubbles at the end of each session!
Sessions cost £2 per week to attend and will start on Friday, April 27, from 7pm to 8pm. For more information on all things ‘Wine and Wickets’ at Sidmouth CC, contact kenya_kate@yahoo.co.uk
