Sidmouth’s Croquet B team played its fourth and final match of the regular season when they took on a strong team from Cornwall, writes Pam Bowra.

Sue Dent, Richard Thurlow, John Coombes and Pamela Bowra were the Sidmouth team and the morning games went well with the hosts winning two of the three matches contested.

After lunch four more games were played, each one was fiercely fought with a high standard of play on both sides, but in the end Sidmouth won them all to run out 6-1 winners.

The B League team is Sidmouth’s most successful team, having won all its matches so far this season.

Prior to this latest success they had beaten Budleigh Salterton, Exeter and Wellington and will now go on to play a semi-final later this summer against the winners of the South East area; then with all fingers crossed, if they win, a final.
