The Croquet Club hosted its new members day on Saturday, April 8, in amazingly fine weather, writes Richard Thurlow.
This event welcomes those who might have an interest in Croquet, giving them a short introduction to the game and a chance to try it.
Twenty-eight visitors turned up, many signing up for four training sessions, which are to be held over the coming few weeks.
This should enable them to become competent players over the course of the season.
Anybody who missed the ‘Taster Day’ and who wants to try out the game, should contact Sue Dent on 01395 514292.
There will also be a chance to try it out on National Croquet Day, which is being held on June 4.
