Every spring and autumn there is a friendly tournament of association croquet against Budleigh Croquet Club when there are always a number of Sidmouth players waiting to be selected to play and win the Seagull Trophy, writes David Butler.
Sidmouth lost the trophy to Budleigh last spring and so the team was adamant the Seagull would be back in its rightful place at Sidmouth Croquet Club this autumn. The morning started well, including the weather.
By lunch-time Sidmouth was in the lead by six games. The afternoon brought another spell of good play by Sidmouth winning 7-1 to leave the final score 13-3 to Sidmouth.
That of course, all means that the Seagull Trophy returns home until, at least, next spring. Well done, Sidmouth.
