Sidmouth entertained Welsh touring side Ystalyfera who hail from the Rhonda Valley last week, writes Ron Cook.
The visitors would have travelled with trepidation fearing the remnants of Hurricane Bertha might wash proceedings away!
However, the weather behaved, indeed it was splendid, as was the standard of the bowling.
Sidmouth won five out of six rinks, losing just the one which allowed them to land an overall victory of 104 shots to 78.
The top rink of the day for Sidmouth was the one skipped by Jason Quinn and including Maury Ervine, Gary Hargrave and Anita Mason, who were 20-9 winners.
