Last Friday Sidmouth ladies played in the Daily Mail Foursomes competition, writes Maria Clapp.
The winners were Maria Clapp and Susan Hackett with 36 points and the pair now go forward to the National competition next year. The runners-up were Marie Timms and Penny Lyne with 34 points.
On Wednesday the ladies played for the Orr Cup, the format for this was a stableford competition. The winner, with an exceptional score was Liz Chance with 41 points.
This resulted with a handicap reduction of two shots. Well done, Liz!
Second place went to lady captain, Angela Coles with 35 – watch out, she is now back on form! In third was Maria Clapp with 34 points.
Angela Coles was the only player to get a two. Not sure how much is in the pot! But it was a double roll over!
