Congratulations to Sidmouth Golf Club's Archie Griffiths, winner of the Under-12 Devon Golf Junior Championship at Bigbury Golf Club.

At the other end of the experience scale, Sidmouth Golf Club Seniors' annual Medal and Putter competition attracted a field of 43 entrants.

The winner with a nett 62 was John Billingsley, ahead of Pat McCormack with 64, who just shaded Len Wright on countback, with Chris Ashley 4th. The competition for the fewest putts was won by Chris Grubb with a fine 26, just pipping Len Wright with 27.

The Seniors' latest fixture was at Fingle Glen with the home side coming out on top by 4 matches to 2. Sidmouth's winners were Hugh Dorliac and Paul Blay, who included an eagle on the par 4 8th, along with Mike Davis and Keith James, both by 3 & 2. Nearest the Pin prize was claimed by Colin Paddon.

The Potburys Trophy competition on Saturday gave players four different formats to negotiate over the 18 holes.

Coming out on top were multi-taskers Amy Moore and Yvonne Anning with an impressive 49 points. Fionn Wardrop and Andy Denning took second with 48, just in front of Gerri Whitrow and Mo Borer in third on 47.

Other winners were James Pickard with George Barber and David Cowler with Steve Nunn. All winners received Potbury vouchers and a cash prize. Thanks to Potbury's for once again sponsoring this day.

The Upper Crust Bakery sponsored Monday Stableford continued to see high scores, despite fast running conditions. In Div 1, Steve Milton won with 40 points, ahead of Neil Holland and Harry Tinknell, both on 39. Div 2 saw Pat McCormack continue his fine form with a solid win with 43 points. Callum Hill on 38 and Archie Griffiths with 37 took the minor places.

The annual Veterans Cup was won this Monday by David Hall with an excellent medal score of nett 61. Ray Gunston also did well on 63 to take second, with Bob Johnston third on 64.

Last week's Sidmouth Jewellers Stableford had Bob Andrews winning on countback from John Jones and Paul Shingler, all posting a score of 37 points.
