Sidmouth Golf Club's seniors managed to avoid a whitewash in their latest fixture at Downes Crediton.

One of the few teams to have matched Sidmouth at home this year, earning a 3-3 tie earlier in the season, they saw brothers Jim and Danny Enright - former Sidmouth members - win the opening match 3&2.

John White and Chris Grubb were five down after seven holes but battled back to trail by just one hole before the Enrights sealed their victory.

This trend continued in the other matches, with Mike Davis and Len Wright just missing out after losing 2&1.

The exception involved Brian Rice and Rob Owen, who rolled back the years to play a major part in their 4&3 success.

The Sidmouth pair led from the sixth hole onwards to deny the hosts a clean sweep as it ended 5-1.

The latest Sidmouth Jewellers Friday Stableford winner was Tim Chapman with a hard-fought 36 points.

Richard Trim took second place on 34, with Arron Taylor a close third as all players continue to find the lightning fast conditions and slopes of the course particularly challenging.

Kevin Legg leads the way in the Friday League with 118 points, well clear of nearest rival Simon Warrington (86).

The Molyneux Financial Planning Medal was Steve Crabb win Division One honours with a nett 61, three better than Paul Hitchcock as Martin White took third on 65.

Steve Nunn (65) won Division Two ahead of Keith Newton (66) and Mike Temple (69).

The latest round in the Dartmoor League saw Exeter visit Sidmouth where conditions again dictated the result to some extent as the home side ran out 5-0 winners to remain top of the table.

The latest Upper Crust Monday Stableford saw Chris Lewis win Division One on 35 points ahead of John Jones (35) and Simon Moore (34), while Archie Griffiths (39) won Division Two from Tom Butler (36) and Mike Anderton (36).
