Unfortunately, Sidmouth ladies were unable to play this week, due to the heavy rain the evening before, writes Maria Clapp.

Instead, several ladies met for coffee, lunch and a chat!

Last season, Sidmouth Golf Club’s president, Roger Bawden, held his annual competition.

This was his third year in office, therefore he will be standing down this year. Very sadly, Roger recently lost his wife, Susan, and has most kindly presented the ladies’ section with a beautiful silver salver, in Susan’s memory. She was a member of the ladies’ section in years gone by.

The club is now able to have the trophy on display as a beautiful hardwood stand has been made by one of the lady member’s brothers, and now the salver is on display in the trophy cabinet together with the hardwood stand.
