With the conclusion of the summer competitions on Friday the winter league got under way on Sunday morning, writes Chris Roberts.

The Winter League is generally a three ball team event with differing formats each Sunday morning and with the teams being drawn randomly its a great way to meet new playing partners and for new members to get used to the larger than life characters of the club.

The first format for the league was three-ball texas scramble which is always fun and gives all members of the team input to each hole score. The winning team on the day was Jonathan Lee, Moray Bosence and Nick Bater with a net score of 56.5.

Second were the team comprising of last years winter league winner Lee Wenham, Graham Davis and Kevin Howe who managed a net score of 57.7.

The final podium spot went to the team of Mr Golf Craig Meluish, Jerry Russel and Guy Davies carding a net score of 58.5.

The entry form is put up in gents changing room each week so get your name down and wait for the draw!
