It was a colourful sight at Sidmouth Golf Course to end the holidays, as 34 Ladies donned their favourite festive jumpers for the ‘Christmas Cracker’.
The fun format was a ‘step aside scramble’ played in teams of three. Following the game, the Ladies enjoyed mince pies and mulled wine in the Clubhouse as they received their Secret Santa gifts.
The winning team on countback with a great score of 51 was Maria Clapp, Angela Coles and Heather Cowan. Prizes were also awarded to Fiona Hartley for achieving the longest drive, Gerri Whitrow who was nearest the pin and Gill Walker nearest the Santa.
Hilary Tutcher impressed all as she darted about the course dressed as one of Santa’s gnomes…well worthy of a special prize!
There is plenty more on the Sidmouth GC calendar as we head into January, including the traditional Monday stableford contests and the ongoing three-ball winter competition.
